SOLIDUS Kick off meeting (University of Barcelona)

In June 16th, the kick off meeting of the European project SOLIDUS “Solidarity in European societies: empowerment, social justice and citizenship” (2015-2018) was held at the Faculty of Economy and Business of the University of Barcelona. SOLIDUS is funded by the European Commission under its Horizon 2020 Programme and its Main Researcher is Dr Marta Soler.

The kick off meeting was attended by more than 30 researchers coming from 14 different universities and institutions like the European Commission; the University of Barcelona and the University of Deusto (Spain); the Central European University (Hungary); the Oslo and Akershus University (Norway); the National School of Public Health (Portugal); the University College Dublin (Ireland); the Roskilde University (Denmark); the University of Cyprus (Cyprus); the University of Edinburgh and the University of Oxford (UK); the Matej Bel University (Slovakia); the University of Leipzig (Germany); and the University of Peloponnese (Greece). The aim of the meeting was establish the bases for the joint work that will allow identifying scientifically which successful actions based on solidarity are been carried out in the European context, as well as their potential transferability to the rest of the European population.
