Short description: this foundation is an administrative body that promotes the concept and adoption of Living Wage, encouraging and accrediting employers who choose to pay the Living Wage on a voluntary basis.
UK Living Wage Foundation has not evidences of how the initiative increases employment achievement. But there are evidences of how this initiative achieves social awareness of the need for having a Living Wage. Approximately 2,300 firms/organisations (including universities and public sector organisations) now accredited and so a significant impact on low wages, which has been especially important for women who dominate those on low pay.
